Free Educational Resources

I have been coming across so many free sites that are useful, I just have to try to put them all in one place.  I'll add to them as I find them.

8notes Free sheet music for most instruments, some finger charts, various info plus midi files of music
Assignment: the World  In 15 minutes, gives you news, puzzles, and homework.
Art Lessons  Free ideas for art lessons by grade.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/  Dance Mat Typing!  Teaches the proper way to type.  A little silly, but that's part of the fun.
Brainpop Fun animated movies in which "Tim and Moby" explain everything from Ancient Egypt to gravity.  This is a pay site, but may be free through your library.  Check with your librarian!
COKAH  My own private homeschool group.  We do mostly fun stuff like museums, Minnewaska programs, Rocket Day, Astronomy, things like that.  And just playing around together.
Kids Know It  Educational Games about almost everything including a Poptropica-like game which lets you advance depending on facts, etc.
Lesson Pathways Complete lesson plans for grades K-5 in Language Arts, Math, all sorts of things.  There are great links to all the activities you need to make a fun unit study.

New York State Assembly  Things to do for grades K-12.
Ology American Museum of Natural History page with games for abt. 1-5 grade.
